RUMA CPA has been Rwanda's leading indigenous accounting and consultancy firm since 1996 — trusted across East Africa, and backed by a global network in 160+ countries.
In August 1993, CPA Peter Rutaremara — a Rwandan refugee in Kampala — co-founded a small accounting firm with Ugandan national CPA Mathias Tumwesigye. The acronym RUMA was born: RU for Rutaremara, MA for Mathias.
After the 1994 genocide, Peter returned home. On October 31, 1996, RUMA CPA was registered in Kigali — becoming one of the first indigenous professional services firms in post-genocide Rwanda. The founding partner later became the first President of ICPAR.
Today RUMA CPA is an affiliate member of Kreston Global — ranking in the top 20 largest independent accounting networks worldwide — with offices in Rwanda, Burundi, and Kenya.
From statutory audits to M&A advisory, RUMA CPA delivers solutions across the full financial lifecycle of your organisation.
